The opposition in Venezuela has won the majority of seats in the National Assembly, reversing almost two decades of domination of the Socialist Party President Nicolas Maduro.
Five hours after the polls, the National Electoral Council announced that the opposition won 99 seats. President Maduro has conceded defeat.
This is the most serious loss of the leftist movement, founded by former leader Hugo Chavez in 1999. The Socialists won only 46 seats.
