Azerbaijan, a fire on the platform of "SOCAR"; 32 victims

A terrible and tragic event was marked this Saturday on the shores of the Caspian Sea, where 32 employees are reported to have died after a fire fallen oil platform operated by Azerbaijan's state energy company, SOCAR.
The news was confirmed by the head of an independent committee, while his company SOCAR has refused to give explanations, although it is constantly contacted by foreign media agencies.
"According to our information, 32 employees died, while 42 others were rescued last night. The fire was finally extinguished on the platform, "said Mirvari Gakhramanly, head of the Committee for the protection of the rights of oil workers in Azerbaijan.
SOCAR announced on Friday that the fire fell on the platform Guneshli oil field in Azerbaijan had started after damaging a gas pipeline from the winds. While the search and rescue efforts of the employees were deteriorated significantly due to strong storms.
An employee of SOCAR had called a reporter to "Reuters", while acknowledging that it was full of 84 workers trapped. The employee in question was not identified, but it is not known whether his statement turns concrete yet or is outdated.
Through the social network site Facebook, SOCAR said on Saturday that 26 workers were rescued from the platform. It gave no other details, however, if there were dead among them, or how many people were trapped on the platform.
About 60 percent of oil production by SOCAR passes through this platform that caught fire, saying the company's production is expected to hit significantly at least temporarily.
This is not the first accident at work since Azeri company SOCAR, as in 2014, on the platforms of its oil and natural gas are recorded 14 fatalities.
