Abaaoud terrorist has escaped the Greek forces

Terroristi Abaaoud u ka shpëtuar forcave greke
Greek police tried to arrest him in January Abdelhamid Abaaoud, suspected coordinator of the attacks Paris, but the operation failed. The information revealed by the British BBC, citing a source in the Belgian counterterrorism.

Abaaoud was killed during an armed clash with French police, 5 days after the terrorist attacks in Paris, killing 130 people. Greek operation was expected to take place before it was carried out by security forces in Verviers, Belgium, on 15 January, where two jihadists were killed.

Greek authorities had fallen on the trail of Abaaoud and believed he ran Belgian cell phone from Athens. Anti-terror sources told the BBC that a senior official of the Belgian police had gone to Athens to coordinate the operation to recover the Abaaoud with Greek colleagues, before the surge in Verviers.

But it is not clear how the terrorist network had been unable to save Greece. There may have been an effort to trace through his mobile phone signal, but it has not worked. Greek authorities have not confirmed the details and everything is known, is that he was able to escape.

Police anti-terrorist operation conducted two days after the offensive in Verviers on 17 January, raided two apartments. Exactly on the same day, Belgian media reported that authorities there were seeking Abaaoudin, a Brussels resident of Moroccan origin, believed to be hiding in Greece.

An Algerian citizen was extradited to Belgium, but who later would become the coordinator of the Paris attacks were not found. A Greek citizen, who lived near the apartments said that he saw Abaaoudin on the road, at least on two occasions.

The Moroccan was involved in 4 of 6 attacks prevented by the French authorities during the spring and, according to the French Interior Minister, Bernard Cazaneuve, was sentenced in absentia to 20 years in prison. Abaaoud is not the only connection between Greece and Paris attacks.

Even Abdeslam Salah, one of two suicide attackers who attacked the "Stade de France" on November 13, had traveled by ferry from Italy to Greece on August 1, leaving only three days later. He is still at large. New details have raised questions about how you can better exchange information, and develop more coordinated operations between counterterrorism authorities in several European countries
