San Bernardino - The shooting this week at an office party in California that left 14 people dead is now being investigated as an "act of terrorism," the US Federal Bureau of Investigation said on Friday.
"We have uncovered evidence that has led us to learn of extensive planning," David Bowdich, the assistant director in charge of the FBI field office in Los Angeles, told reporters.
It remained unclear whether the suspects in the attack were directed or inspired by a terrorist group like ISIS or al-Qaeda, dpa quoted Bowdich as saying.
He pointed to the planning of the attack and attempts to destroy digital evidence, but would not provide further details about what evidence pointed to terrorism.
